SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, HEALTH & WELLBEING SESSIONS IN SCHOOLS WITH ANIMALS & HELPING KIDS RETURN TO SCHOOL

HugglePets in the Community have been granted funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund to help support children’s mental health as they return to school.

They are offering schools in the Black Country an opportunity to book a series of 6- week sessions with animals and trained therapists to help children’s mental health and wellbeing in their Sensory Activity Centre and Community Aquarium.

Wolverhampton based HugglePets in the Community are a non-for-profit organisation, who offer a range of activities and therapy sessions, incorporating animals.

WHGS’ DIRECTOR NAMED CHAIR OF NATIONAL HOUSING FEDERATION’S BUILDING SAFETY NATIONAL GROUP

whgs’ Director of Energy and Programme Management has been named chair of the National Housing Federation’s Building Safety National Group.

Paul Dockerill will head up the panel of 15 safety experts from housing organisations across the country, which has been set up to share experiences with the housing sector on building safety.

The group aims to gather feedback from housing associations as the government explores ways of improving the safety of high-rise housing in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Members will discuss how to put into practice the new system of building regulations proposed by the Government as it implements the findings of the Hackitt Review – a review into building safety and fire regulations following the West London tragedy.
